Refund Policy
How cancellations, refunds and work in progress are handled on Nomadic Authors USA projects.
Scope of this policy
This policy describes the general approach to cancellations and refunds. The binding terms for any project are those in the written engagement agreement you sign for that project.
The free manuscript review
The manuscript review is provided free of charge and carries no obligation. There is nothing to refund, and declining to proceed afterwards costs you nothing.
Work in progress
Publishing services are delivered in defined stages. Where a project is cancelled partway through, the treatment of stages already completed, stages in progress and any deposit is set out in the engagement agreement. The specific commercial terms are to be confirmed by the business and stated here before launch.
Bespoke creative work
Editorial, design and illustration work is produced specifically for your book and cannot be resold. This affects what can reasonably be refunded once work has begun, and the engagement agreement sets out how that is handled at each stage.
If you are unhappy with the work
Tell us. Most concerns about editorial or design work are resolved through the revision rounds included in scope. If they are not, raise it directly and we will look at it properly rather than pointing at a clause.
Third-party costs
Costs paid to third parties on your behalf — printing, identifiers, distribution setup, advertising spend — are generally non-recoverable once incurred. These are identified in your quote.
Consumer rights
Nothing in this policy affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer under the law applicable to your engagement. Those rights are to be identified with legal advisers and referenced here.
How to raise a request
Send refund or cancellation requests through the contact page, quoting your project reference.

Send them through and we will answer. Where a question needs a lawyer's answer rather than ours, we will say so.
