Our commitment

We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or reduced-motion settings.

The standard we build to

This site is built targeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Targeting a standard is not the same as being certified against it, and we do not claim conformance that has not been independently assessed.

What has been implemented

Semantic HTML structure with a logical heading order; a skip-to-content link on every page; full keyboard operability for navigation, accordions, tabs, filters and forms; visible focus indicators; form fields with associated labels and error messages announced to assistive technology; colour contrast checked against AA thresholds for text; descriptive alternative text on meaningful images and accessible names on decorative SVG; support for the reduced-motion preference; and responsive layouts tested from 320 pixels upward without horizontal scrolling.

Known limitations

During development the resources section renders article listings in the browser, so it needs JavaScript. This will be resolved when content is rendered server-side. Any third-party embeds added later may not meet the same standard, and we will note them here if so.

Formal audit

An independent accessibility audit is to be commissioned by the business before launch. Its findings and the resulting fixes will be summarised on this page.

Reporting a barrier

If something on this site prevents you from doing what you came to do, tell us through the contact page and describe what happened and what you were using. We will respond and, where we can, fix it. If you need information from this site in a different format, ask and we will provide it.
